    A split case pump is a type of centrifugal pump in which the pump’s casing is split into two separate chambers.
    This type of pump is different from an inline pump or an end suction pump in which the discharge nozzle and the
    suction nozzle are both included in one chamber.

    There are two main types of the split case pump. When the casing is split along a vertical plane with respect to the
    impeller, it is referred to as a vertical split case pump. When the casing is split along a horizontal plane, it is referred
    to as a horizontal split case pump. The later type of casing design is more economical in applications that require
    significantly higher flows, and its impeller can be supported using bearings on two sides, which is an advantage for
    larger, higher flow pumps.
    The split case pump has both the discharge and suction connections in the lower half of the pump casing, in an opposing
    configuration to each other. The pump’s impeller is normally mounted on a shaft that is supported by bearings on two sides.

    KEY FEATURES
    Precision balancing of all factors in the design of CNP NMFIRE horizontal split case fire pump provide mechanical
    dependability, efficient operation and minimal maintenance. Simplicity of design ensures long efficient unit life, reduced
    maintenance costs and minimum power consumption.
    Split case fire pumps are specifically designed and tested for fire service application around the world including:
    Office buildings, hospitals, airports, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, power stations, oil and gas industry, schools/colleges,
    hotels, etc.

    Application:

    For liquid transfer and circulation of cold clean or slightly polluted water. Typical applications in:
    • Municipal water supply;
    • Power plants;
    • Industrial plants;
    • Boiler feed and condensate systems;
    • Irrigation and dewatering;
    • General purposes.

    Advantage:

    First-Class international technical standards

    Horizontal Split Case (HSC) pumps are given their name due to the “split”” design of the casing, where the casing cover can be lifted off of the pump to expose the internal components. These components include the impeller, bearings, pump shaft, and so on. HSC pumps have two bearings, located on either side of the impeller, which are useful to withstand the large amount of vibration and thrust forces often caused by water turbulence in the suction piping. The pump casings are often designed to handle higher working pressures, and are often heavier. The durability of the HSC design allows the pump to be used for very large water flows – often in excess of 5000 GPM. It should be noted that an HSC pump is not always mounted horizontally, it is possible to have the same durability design features and have the pump designed to be mounted vertically.
